Labor Day Weekend (Day 1)

After learning from our case worker that we don't need a court order to travel for the weekend, as long as we get approval, I asked if we could spend the weekend in Kentucky. She said it wouldn't be a problem. Woohoo. So we get to see our son for the weekend! It has only been a few weeks since he left for college, but still. It feels like forever. So many things change in such a short amount of time. I started calling around for a place to stay. Can you believe that everything is booked??!!! I was shocked. This is a small...and I mean small little town. But nothing was available. I had to get rooms 40 minutes away. But all is well. The look on the little kids' faces when they saw him was really heart warming. Baby Girl saw Missionary Boy through the window while we waited to meet up at Papa John's. She started screaming, "There's MB! There's my brother!" Lil Bambino just grinned ear to ear.

We decided to go to Cumberland Falls. It is our girls' first time...and our first time going at dusk. We were hoping to see the Moonbow, but didn't get that lucky. But it was still beautiful to see.
(Even though I have seen it more times than I can count...it never gets old looking at it!)

I think the girls really enjoyed seeing it. We will be back again sometime to see it in the sun too...LOL.
DH took the kids down to the beach area. I hiked down a little but it wasn't fun dragging a stroller down all those stairs so I stopped. But as we began, DH had Lil Bambino by the hand and Baby Girl was following along the otherside. (It's dark) and I hear Baby Girl say, "If a bear comes out, it's going to eat Lil Bambino because I can run faster!"

We went back to the hotel and divided up. Girls in one room and boys in the other. I got all "my kids" in bed and hopped in the shower. It was a REALLY hot day!

To beat all...Lil Bambino did NOT take a nap the whole day. He was still wake at 10:46 when I was nodding off...and woke me up a while later by twisting the metal bars on the crib that I had gotten from the hotel. Arggg! Of course he was wide awake at 6AM the next moring too!

There are a lot more pictures, but unfortunetly, I am unable to share those for confidentuality reasons.
