Labor Day Weekend Day 2 (part 2)!

So while heading up to the van from the hike back from Chained Rock, Flannel Boy breezes by me and says, “My blood sugar is low.”
Argg..
I am thinking, “Lord, get me to the top without killing over from a heart attack” (my pulse was pounding in my head and I could barely breathe). But I knew I had to follow him up regardless because I didn't know how low his blood sugar was…because he didn’t bring his MONITOR!
So we get to the van and I call DH and tell him that we are on our way to the lodge to get him something to drink. That is leaving DH with five kids…Miss Priss was with me.
We get to the Lodge and what do you know? MORE STAIRS TO CLIMB!
But they were nice. We are directed to the restaurant. I tell them that I need orange juice for Flannel Boy. They bring out a tall glass. I ask to pay for it. $2.57!!! Yes, I am a tight-wad! The first thought was, “Thank God we didn’t come here to eat” (remember this).
DH and everyone meets up with us outside and we decide to go to *Steve’s college dorm which is just down around the mountain. LOL.

Beautiful place.
We go in…and guess what! MORE STAIRS! His room is on the top floor! So he shows us around and we hang out for about 2 seconds….IMAG0470[1] IMAG0468[1]
It’s a very small room.

And the very small room that they call a kitchen. It has a hot plate…and you can see in that picture up there, the electric skillet that I brought him. They have a frig, sink and washing machine and dryer. LOL. See those blue cups? *Steve, aren’t you glad I sent you with a service set for four?
After this, we went into the rec room. I WISH I had better pictures because it was beautiful too. I would LOVE to have a living room like that! There were three couches on each side of the room and a ping pong table and pool table in the middle. AND HUGE FIREPLACES on each end! Gorgeous!

While the kids are playing and hanging out, DH and I are watching Grease…LOL. The one with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John…I love Grease.
Anyway…I few of *Steve’s fellow mates came through and we are introduced.
I must say…these are an absolutely wonderful group of young men. And everyone has a nickname. So we met Mo, Coach and later, Pappy. Mo’s family was there visiting and Mo invites…insists that we join them for lunch at the lodge….
Now you remember my earlier statement? We have 9 in our group…plus if you have read my previous blog entries….and the behaviors... These kiddos, I cringe being seen in a public place with.
Not to mention the fact that Lil Bambino has started to take great delight in having full blown tantrums in public!
I try to say no. But he was very sweet…and persistent.
We go to the lodge. It is a beautiful place.

And we wait…While we are waiting…Mo’s family was very sweet. Mom, Dad and Grandma are trying to talk…and Lil Bambino throws a doozy.
There is NOTHING you can do to pacify this child when he gets into this mood. I am past being embarrassed. Instinct is telling me to run. But I want to be polite.
Mo’s grandmother tries giving him a packet of cookies she had, but that pacified him as long as he was chewing…after that…he was back on the floor kicking and screaming.  It was a “Shoot me now” kind of moment!
After lunch…we said a quick "Thank You" and "good bye"…
Then off to our next adventure….
Stay tuned for Part 3 of Day two.
