Labor Day Weekend (Day 2)

MB, I will now dub *Steve…because that is what his nickname is anyway…how, I can’t even tell you! But it seems everyone in his dorm has a nickname as well. LOL!

Any way, *Steve spent the night with us in the hotel. The plan…at least MY PLAN was to get up in the morning and visit his new church. Well as I stated before, Lil Bambino woke up at 6AM. Of course, it took me until 7AM to get out of bed. I got Lil Bambino up along with the other three and we got dressed and went down for breakfast. By 8AM, we were back in our room and ready to go.

I call across the hall and I could tell by DH’s voice that I had just woke him up. So *Steve gets on the phone and says he wasn’t prepared to go to church that morning and that we should hike before it got to hot and go to the later service. Okay, whatever….

It takes them FOREVER to get up and get dressed! Then of course they need to go down to breakfast as well. SLACKERS!

 

So the next plan was to hike to Chained Rock on Pine Mountain State Park. This is another place I have been….many times. But s’rsly though, it was a LOT easier to hike when I was younger. It about kills me now. And I won’t say how long the hike is…because then you would just laugh.This is the best picture…*Steve took it with my cell.

I should also mention….I did not get up on the rock…because since I have gotten old, my mortality is a huge reality to me now.

 This is the beginning hike down. Lil Bambino on his first hike. Going at a good pace. Then he decides he wants to do it on his own…for about a minute…LOL

  Of Course Lil Monster has to take Lil Bambino up on a high rock…you can’t tell it here, but this is a HUGE rock! And up high in the air.

This is under a huge rock. This is on the other side of the trail from this rock.

  Now we are up to the Chained Rock. Baby Girl stops here and waves her hand back and forth and tells me that I can’t come up there. I asked her why not?! She says, “I need you to hold my cup!” I told her to put it down and get it later…geeze. Yep, this gives me the willies now!  DH was just as jittery as me…but he didn’t want to admit it.

Lil Bambino even wanted to climb up.
