Adoption Day!

Today we finalized our adoption for Lil' Bambino.

After fostering "hoards" of "little kids" (toddlers), I told DH that I was DONE with babies....they have to WALK and be close to potty trained...LOL.

Then came the call from a different county asking if we would be interested in a male infant for adoption. Our name had been given by the director of the agency who did our home study.

S'rsly...how can you say "No" when someone asks you if you want a baby? To keep?

Of course I said yes.

I didn't even ask DH. He was outside doing something. I remember opening the front door and yelling out, "You're getting a new son, he will be here sometime on Friday!"

So Friday comes, and here they bring Lil' Bambino. I had no idea what he looked like, other than he was a "chubby hispanic baby boy with a big head." That is how he was describe.

Friday comes and a case worker, who is on her way home from work, drops him off. He was in a careseat asleep. He looked like a little angel. I carefully removed him from the carseat and held him in my arms.

After a few minutes, he woke up and grabbed my arms tight. He had no idea who I was. I felt so bad for him. We were his fourth placement and he wasn't even a year old yet.

We spent the next couple of weeks not allowing anyone but family hold him. I wanted to make sure that he bonded with us...and he has. I am not ashamed to say my Lil' Bambino is a Momma's boy! (Even though he has been hollering for daddy lately!)

I will not tell his story here. It is his story to tell. But I am thankful for the blessing that we have received.
