Book Review: The Elijah Project

This series is for tweens and teens, by Bill Myers; but I really enjoyed it myself.

Book 1: On the Run
The series is about a special little boy named; you guessed it, Elijah; and his older siblings who do everything in their power, with God's help to keep Elijah safe and out of the hands of the Shadow Man. Elijah has been given a special gift that evil wants to control. Evil has found Elijah. Their parents try to protect the children by taking off hoping to distract those who are after him. But of course, children have a mind of their own and things happen. While trying to find their parents, they encounter servants of the evil one.
This story doesn't end...it leaves you hanging, dying for more.

Book 2: The Enemy Closes In
While on the run, they encounter more spiritual warfare and help a troubled girl to seek the truth. The power of God is shown and the importance of not falling for the stuff Satan tries to distract us with. This book teaches us to put on the Armor of God.

Book 3: Trapped by Shadows
Their battle with evil continues. This book really shows us the power of prayer and how we can overcome evil with the help of God through prayer.

Book 4: The Chambers of Lies
This book is really awesome. What really struck me was the TRUTH. Each child was offered their desire: fame, fortune, power. They were tempted, just as Satan tempted Jesus in the desert. But the FINAL TRUTH was revealed. God's truth!

If you want a good way to show your child the kind of spiritual warfare we encounter and how THEY are able to do battle in the name of Christ, get this series for them.

The final book also leaves you hanging. AGAIN. I think it is Bill Myers' "trademark". He is an excellent writer. He keeps you wanting for more.

I have also purchased the Forbidden Doors series. There are 12 books in this series. I will give a review of these later.

I also have the Soul Tracker series. There are three books in this series. Miss Priss is reading the first book now and she can't put it down. And this is from a kid who hates to read!  I guarantee that you will be hooked on each of these.

Bill Myers does an excellent job at showing us the meaning of the verse:

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. ~Ephesians 6:12-13
