I absolutely love a good storm. Tuesday night, as I lay down I heard the rumbling of thunder. My first thought was, "Oh thank You Lord, a nice thunderstorm to help me sleep".
Unlike most people, I sleep so much better with the low rumbling thunder and rain beating against the roof of the house.
But Tuesday night was not the night. Oh. MY. GOSH! The noise was unbelievable. It did not sound like a regular thunderstorm.
It sounded like God was throwing round about a hundred or so 2x4's!
You know what wood sounds like when it crashes onto a cement floor? That is EXACTLY what it sounded like...only hundreds of them! Then, just as I started to dose off...1:30AM...there is went again. The sound jerked me awake so fast I about fell out of bed. Not to mention the tensing of my muscles during that jerk causing me to have muscle pains all night.
I thought for sure that I would have at least 4 kids screaming at our door demanding to be allowed to sleep with us. But they slept though it. I couldn't believe it.
I am thankful that none of the trees came down. That worries me every time a storm comes. We have at least 11 that are completely dead and need to be removed. They are so big that DH can not do them on his own. We have to get professions out...nice. Did you read my other post about being poor?
