I Received a Thank You for Being Poor

I guess there is a first for everything.

I received a text yesterday from my daughter and it said:

Big Girl: Thank u for letting us be poor! Or id be even poorer!
                My books for four classes was almost 500 bucks!

Me: LOL

Big Girl: Um u guys better not get rich until I get out of school.

Okay, glad someone is happy with our lack of finances.

But seriously. I have thought about it a lot. Have always wondered why everyone else has more money than us. Why can't we ever find the "get rich schemes" or win the lottery?

I can honestly say...God provides what we need...and gives us some of our wants. But He also will keep away something that could destroy us too. We all have our "monkey". One of ours as a couple is not being a good steward of our money. I accept that. Don't like it. But unless I can take the steps to correct those poor decisions and behaviors, we will never get a "wind fall".  I accept that.

Plus, there is something to be said for working really hard for what you've got. If it is really worth it, you will work hard for it. And you will appreciate it a whole lot more.
